Arika 12 - EPISODE 2: A Special Form of Darkness
Tramway 24 – 26 February 2012
A festival (or salon) of experimental music, performance and discussions, variously concerned with the usefulness of nihilism, pessimism and negativity; it’s about the limits of thought and experience, and what we might consider to be ‘ourselves’. Together we’ll ask how do we make sense of experimental musicians, performance artists, cultural critics, philosophers and scientists who doubt identity, existence and experience?
Including performances from Dawn Kasper, Malin Arnell, Keiji Haino and discussions with Ray Brassier, Mark Fisher, Evan Calder Williams and neuroscientist Thomas Metzinger. Full programme info is available at www.arika.org.uk.
