“Few works staged this year will provide a more exciting glimpse of how traditional art forms and the latest technologies might fuse in something new and powerful in the 21st century.”

The Times

With composer Andris Dzenitis, conductor Kaspars Putnins and director by Cathie Boyd, Books of Silence is a commissioned contemporary chamber opera. Based on the works of Oscar Milosz and scored for seven voices and seven live instruments, it combines movement from the choir, electronics and stunning real time visuals from the French artist Cecile Babiole with lighting by Zerlina Hughes.

A Cryptic and Latvian Radio Choir co-production commissioned by Tramway, Glasgow in association with the Latvian National Theatre.
