Electra encompasses the original Greek concept of three performers and is a shocking journey through spoken and sung text, music and video. Pre-recorded images and live video footage form the visual backdrop and a devised soundscape is mixed live as the performance takes place on stage. Electra is a grotesque vision of a woman on the verge.
Based on a new version of the text by Clare Venables, with sound design by Alistair MacDonald; film by Trane House Red; design by Matt Johnson; lighting design by Paul Sorley; direction by Cathie Boyd.
Produced in collaboration with a Flemish artist, Eurudike De Beul.
A co-production with Paisley Arts Centre and the Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow.
