Three music works presented visually by Cryptic and performed by The Scottish Ensemble and Tenebrae as part of the celebrations of Scottish Ensemble’s 40th Anniversary and James MacMillan’s 50th birthday. Cryptic commissioned visual artists to create seven short films to accompany James MacMillan’s masterpiece Seven Last Words from the Cross (Cantata for choir and strings). Visuals were also made for Nigel Osborne’s Seven Words, Seven Icons, Seven Cities and John Tavener’s Tears of the Angels.
