Cellist Oliver Coates is well known for his collaborations with leading contemporary musicians and composers working in many different genres. This performance showcases his musical explorations from Messaien’s work for ondes martenot to Larry Goves’ flighty piano ripples that accompany the earthy tones of the cello. Coates’ version of Tommib Help Buss is a musical piece of perfection that complements Mica Levi’s award-winning song Love, featured in the soundtrack to Michael Glazer’s film, Under the Skin.
