From fear and desire to nothing…

Confined Human Condition was a music theatre double bill where both works explored the situations of women in extremes:

The Baghdad Monologue by Vinão (Scottish Premiere) and performed by soprano, Frances Lynch, featured a rhythmic electroacoustic score with tightly woven text portraying a familiar situation that is as old as civilization: the forceful intervention of the strong and the powerful to ‘protect’ and ‘liberate’ the weak.

Martin’s Terror of Love, performed by Loré Lixenberg & Clare Roderick, saw a woman relinquish her body and life to her lover, discovering that only in death can she be freed of her last bonds to the world and give herself wholly to love.
