Matthew Collings’ latest audiovisual performance is based around the actions and decisions of whistleblower Edward Snowden. It focuses on a number of themes relevant to life in the 21st century: loss of faith and security, the hacking of digital media, invasion of privacy and personal sacrifice.

“By turns politically muscular and poignantly nuanced, Collings’s excellent piece is a heartening reminder of the quality of new music being created and performed in Scotland today.” The Herald

Snowden revealed that we live in a world in which the privacy of our daily routines is completely compromised. Exploring these consequences through a blend of electronic sound and acoustic instrumentation, the gestures of Matthew and performers Peter Furniss, Clea Friend and Emma Lloyd are analysed and interact with real-time visuals from Jules Rawlinson.
