Struileag: Children of The Smoke

Be carried on an epic journey into the world of the Gael, a people scattered across the globe…

An explosion of show-stopping songs, spectacular imagery and exhilarating dance, Children of the Smoke is an anthem to people of Highland & Island descent stretching through time and around the planet. At its heart lies a deep and emotionally engaging tale of love, family, exile, loss, hope and strength that everyone will relate to.

“As director of Struileag: Children of the Smoke, I am incredibly excited to present this spectacular show as part of the Year of Homecoming and Culture 2014. I am proud to have combined the beautiful poetry of some of Scotland’s finest writers and the fantastic music of Jim Sutherland with the amazing choreography of Thomas Small and a superb 6m long boat specially-designed by Rebecca Brower. I look forward to welcoming our audience to Glasgow Green for what promises to be a unique event in Scottish arts.”  Dan Ayling
