Black-collared Starling 烏領椋鳥 (Hong Kong) is an audiovisual work created by Composer An-Ting and Creative Technologist Ian Gallagher.
Initially taken aback by the city’s noise and dense urban landscape, they soon discovered that nature persists in and around Hong Kong – birds calling out amid the chaos, just like people. Combining field recordings from both the city and its surrounding hills with AI-generated visuals, the work explores the tension and connection between natural and manmade environments, revealing a shared struggle to be heard and to survive.
