Black-collared Starling 烏領椋鳥 (Hong Kong) is an audiovisual work created by Composer An-Ting and Creative Technologist Ian Gallagher from the album Lost Communications 失絡之聲.

Initially taken aback by the city’s noise and dense urban landscape, they soon discovered that nature persists in and around Hong Kong – birds calling out amid the chaos, just like people. Combining field recordings from both the city and its surrounding hills with AI-generated visuals, the work explores the tension and connection between natural and manmade environments, revealing a shared struggle to be heard and to survive.
