Ricochet is an intimate interactive sound and light installation by musician and composer Paul Russell. Built from a custom control surface, 24 incandescent bulbs and multi-channel speaker system, the work centres on eight algorithmically generated bouncing balls that trigger distinct pitches and lights as they strike the ground. Emerging from grief, Ricochet evolved into a living composition where structure and emotion intersect – always led by curiosity and play. Audiences activate and shape the piece, controlling rhythm, gravity and intensity to create a uniquely responsive audiovisual encounter that is both intimate and expansive.
